Brenda | Hi guys, I purchased DOKAN about a year ago, and left disappointed and frustrated with the lack of completeness. Now I come back, hoping that most of the bugs and kinks are ironed out. But this forum still seem VERY active... Does anybody have this working? I mean really working, where you would be proud to recruit and unveil this to other vendors? I'm really having doubts here... Please, positive or negative... CHIME IN :) |

Ajitabh | How’s it going Gerald, I purchased the plugin 3 months ago and so far I only had problems with the emails and my ISP, so far nothing is wrong, I guess you need to follow the documentation as carefully as possible otherwise you run into hitches. Support is great I have never had a problem. cheers |

Gerald | Thank you for the feedback, how many vendors? Ease of use for them? Sample website 🙂 |

Brenda | We’ve always had Dokan working properly but had several glitches between the plugin and our theme (resolved by us, WeDevs, and the theme dev) or the Dokan hasn’t offered the additional features that we would like for our particular marketplace (in this we experienced delays but have developed our own sales tax plugin, tax on shipping plugin, and stripe connect plugin to overcome). So — yes we have Dokan working properly and it has been working properly since December 2014 but we have not launched our marketplace yet. The hangup on our marketplace now is, believe it or not, related to our own content and business plan. Go figure 😉 I’d love to see Ajitabh’s link to his working site, of course! Best to all, Brenda |

Gerald | Still not one live case study or site that is fully functional with many vendors participating? Common guys, there must be at least one person/company out there? Or is this thing way to buggy that everybody just gets frustrated and abandons it?? |

Neen Monty | I came very close to abandoning it. There are still multiple bugs, and I am certainly NOT happy with the price I paid for a very buggy plugin. I can’t even remember when I bought it, but I am guessing that I will have to renew my license before its functional enough to be a live site. Which I think is pretty appalling. But I am getting close to launching a live site. I know there are bugs, but I will be working around them, as I haven’t found support to always be helpful. And the documentation is not always clear. I will post back when my site is live and let you know how it goes. Neen |

Gerald | It seems that your sentiments are shared along with many other buyers. I am not happy either, and am abandoning this for the final time. I’ve had, regretfully, many experiences with vendors like these. The ‘fix’ is never in. They will fix one bug, and give rise to 5 new ones. Then, go in and start to fix the new mess, and create an even newer one. By reading the forum here, that seems to be pretty constant. When I go sell on Etsy for example, the site simply works! What a concept right? I purchased this almost a year ago, and haven’t used it because of their initially crappy support. So I left it on the shelf. I come back now to test it, and they are ready ready to charge me for another year of support REALLY soon! LMAO!! If I sold products that didn’t work… I’d be out of business. Appalling is correct. How can you sell something this dysfunctional, and be around one year later is beyond my comprehension. LMFAO#1 Keep this thread alive Neen 🙂 Please add more detail as you see fit. Anyone else care to chime in?? |

Brenda | Gerald, Please go troll and complain elsewhere. I was subscribed to the thread and really do care that other users (like you) are achieving their goals with Dokan. We can help each other but tearing down the WeDevs product isn’t helping any of us. What are your particular problems? Really. No whining about needing “features” b/c those only come along so fast and we’re all waiting on features. Just what is the exact problem with the launched product you’re trying to fix? The only problem I saw you mention was a problem between your theme and Dokan. Have you asked your theme dev to help you? Regards, Brenda |

Brenda | Dokan is a platform for making your own multivendor marketplace. This makes YOU into Etsy. Not an Etsy customer. Big difference. I like Etsy and was one of the early Etsy users. I remember the early days and they weren’t pretty for Etsy customers. BUT–we’re comparing apples and oranges. What sort of problems do you think ETSY was dealing with behind the scenes so their customers could have an easy to use marketplace? A lot! that’s for sure. |
