Configuring Facebook
To configure Facebook registration/login, you’ll need to create a Facebook app and insert the AppID and AppSecret on the settings page.
The ‘Site URL’ will be needed to create the App on Facebook.
How to Get AppID and AppSecret from Facebook App?
- You can easily create it by clicking on the ‘Create an App’ link indicated on the image above, or go directly to https://developers.facebook.com/apps/.
- After selecting Create an App, please follow the steps below and screenshots for better understanding.
You can choose any name related to your website, or any preference is good to go.
Type your App name and your App email address >> Next.
- Select “Other” from the check boxes and click Next.
- Now, select the type as “Consumer”
5. After clicking next, it will redirect you to the Add products to your app.
Then click on “Facebook Login setup” as snapshot below.
6. You will redirect to the Facebook Login >> Quickstart page. Now select Web.
7. Give your site URL in the field and save.
8. Now navigate to App settings >> Basic.
Under App Domains, paste your site domain and email address in the contact email field. Then save changes.
9. Now navigate to your WP admin dashboard >> WP UF >> Settings >> Social Login >> Redirect URI.
Then copy it.
10. Paste the Redirect URI from Advanced >> Share Redirect Allow list >> Save changes.
11. Then go to Facebook Login >> Settings, and paste the Redirected URL you copied before.
12. Go to App Settings >> Basic, copy the App ID and App secret.
13. Now navigate to WP User Frontend >> Settings >> Social login. Paste the App ID and App Secret in the fields.
Click on the Save Changes, and you are all done configuring Facebook registration/login settings here.
Now click on the Facebook icon on the login/registration page to login/register with your Facebook account to your website.
You will be requested to sign in to authorize the app. That’s it for today.
